The UMBC Health Task Force was founded by five students, Piper Sweeney, Vanessa William, Aisha Chishti, Jagpaul Kargbo, and Vivian Soto. The idea was first introduced through a project in their Health Communications class. Since then, the group has implemented five different interventions to successfully increase physical activity in UMBC students. According to the UMBC Stress and Health survey, students have seen a 72% decrease in their stress levels since the Fall 2019 class.
